Department Description: The Law Department team based at Mobile Devices provides a broad range of commercial legal and IP support covering all aspects of the business. We have teams and individuals dispersed globally in Motorola?s key markets focused on ?go to market? support, marketing and trademarks, service and warranty support, inbound and outbound IP/patent licensing and defensive IP matter, in-business IP counseling, patent preparation and prosecution, product safety, regulatory matters and labor law.

Responsibilities/Expectations: Commercial Counsel for a multi-billion dollar multinational corporation's mobile devices business responsible for employing a consultative approach to commercial counseling. This individual will also be responsible for leading negotiations on key business deals, creating and implementing negotiation strategies and ensuring proper due diligence and compliance with corporate governance policies. Additionally, they will interface with other attorneys and provide support to other practice areas on issues relating to sales, operations, retail, antitrust, ethics, etc. They will be part of an energetic team providing best in class commercial counseling, training, deal negotiations, planning, processes and procedures.^^

Knowledge Skills: The ideal candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years experience providing commercial counseling, 2-3 years in-house experience a plus. Exposure to sales and business operations, antitrust, retail and/or distribution counseling; experience drafting, leading and negotiating contracts/deals, preferably in the telecommunications arena. The ideal candidate will have excellent judgment and prioritization skills; commercial acumen; exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to make timely decisions and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
