Compliance Research Specialist

This position monitors and identifies changes in laws, regulations and other governmental
issuances that impact ReconTrust's business units. Key functions include assisting in updating policies and procedures to reflect changes in regulatory compliance and providing support (including legal research) to the compliance staff in these areas. Responsibilities will include coordinating outside counsel on research projects and related issues, along with periodically reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Other duties include maintaining Compliance Department records, reports and meeting agendas.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years experience in a large Loan Servicing operation within the Financial Services or
Mortgage Banking industries.
- College degree in Pre-Law, Business, Communications, Economics, Computer Science, History, Literature or related subject preferred.
- Knowledge of the applicable federal and state mortgage banking laws, regulations and investor guidelines that apply to loan servicing, foreclosure or lien release.
- Strong paralegal skills.
- PC proficiency (Word, Lotus Notes, AS400 and Excel) with ability to perform Internet searches using WestLaw.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
