Corporate Counsel

Amazon.com's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support its IT procurement, operations and retail businesses.? This position serves as the primary attorney to several business teams on an ongoing basis.?? This position structures, drafts, negotiates and counsels the business teams on a broad range of commercial transactions related to telecom/data services, hardware procurement, technical services, software licensing, fulfillment logistics, design and construction, retail and marketing, and general corporate services; these transactions range from standard contracts to complex, high-dollar-value transactions.? This position also provides day-to-day business law counseling; administers and resolves legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships; and handles pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.



Qualified candidates must have three or more years of legal experience (with at least two years at a law firm) as a transactional attorney; in-house experience is a plus.? The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.? A J.D. degree and membership in one state bar is required.
