Corporate Counsel - Fund Services

Corporate attorney to support its Fund Services division.  Fund Services provides transaction processing, compliance and related services to mutual funds, separately managed accounts and other investment products, both domestic and offshore.

 

The attorney will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel and have responsibility for various day-to-day legal matters related to the Fund Services division.  A portion of the attorney?s time may also be spent supporting other divisions, including the Private Equity division.  Responsibilities will include the preparation and negotiation of contracts with clients and vendors, advising business leaders on strategic initiatives and structuring transactions, drafting and implementing compliance policies and procedures, managing litigation and other disputes, assisting with responses to subpoenas and regulatory examinations, and advising on employment, intellectual property and other miscellaneous legal matters.

 

The position requires strong communication and drafting skills, as well as the ability to effectively and efficiently resolve legal and business issues with senior-level business executives and attorneys inside and outside the company.  At least three years of law firm experience is required.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have two to three years of experience handling corporate and transactional matters in an in-house environment.  Experience with mutual funds and/or the outsourcing of services would be a plus but is not required.
