Counsel

Job Description: This position will provide general legal counsel in areas of product development(insurance coverage), marketing and distributions, regulatory matters and government affairs work as well as, and contract review/drafting related to property and casualty insurance. The successful candidate will pro-actively build partnerships with our internal business clients to and establish and maintain effective working relationships with regulators and legislators directly and through trade groups and retained counsel/lobbyists.

* 4-8 years experience in either a corporate law or litigation setting reflecting a record of accomplishment
* Juris Doctorate required; excellent academic credentials
* Experience in the insurance industry, especially with coverages a plus, but not required
* Excellent communications and negotiations skills
* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, senior management and outside constituents
* Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments
* Ability to travel as required
