Indirectly supervises administrative assistant. Approves contracts and commencement/settlement of litigation. Controls costs by managing the retention of outside counsel. Promotes compliance with all laws governing the operation of the Food and Beverage segment. Provides legal education and training to management and staff. Provides daily counseling to management on employment and labor, commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and other substantive areas as assigned. Negotiates and drafting various contracts and agreements. Retains and managing outside counsel. Supports enforcement of Sara Lee’s Global Business Standards. 

5-7 Years of Experience JD Degree Admission to Bar Make informed, objective decisions and difficult judgment calls on the basis of limited facts and law Understand and consider the strategic and practical implications of legal advice Develop creative, practical solutions to legal issues in light of the risk/reward tradeoffs Readily understand new or unfamiliar areas of law and business considerations Handle a significant number of projects in a timely manner yet still be accessible to business unit heads and their staff.
