growing field of records management. The position will be located in one of the

three following UnumProvident campuses: Chattanooga, TN, Portland, ME or

Worcester, MA location.





General Job Summary:



 Incumbent is responsible for the leadership of the company's information and

records management program. Duties include strategic planning in coordination

with Senior Management objectives; management planning; the development and

implementation of policies, standards, and procedures for the management and

retention of recorded information assets (all media); communication and

training for all business units; consulting with business units on records

management issues and program compliance monitoring.



 

Key Responsibilities and Skills Needed:



* BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university. Preferred major

in Business, Library Sciences or related field. Juris Doctor Degree helpful

but not required.

* Active CRM (Certified Records Manager) certification preferred

* 5 years experience working in a corporate records management

program preferably in the financial services industry.

* Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively with

and influence senior management

* Negotiation experience

* Creative problem solving experience

* Proven management, leadership skills and training experience

* 5+ years of full scope management experience preferred.

* Excellent analytical skills

* Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel;

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and

external partners

* Ability to identify process improvement needs and to drive implementation of

necessary changes including system enhancements.

* Responsible operation of unit, managing 25-30 team members at multiple

locations.

* Demonstrated ability to develop and coach a professional staff.

* Interface with internal company areas and advise as required regarding

information and records management practices

* Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals and other Law and Regulatory Affairs

Department personnel to assist with and address legal and regulatory issues.

* Ability to serve as company representative on matters relating to Information

and Records Management.

* Occasional travel required
