Docket Clerk

An established Chicago North Shore Intellectual Property and Marketing law firm is seeking a part-time docket clerk with 2+ years of experience.  Responsibilities will include:

 Preparing docket reports for attorneys and paralegals on a daily basis.Processing incoming correspondence from the USPTO, foreign trademark offices, clients and foreign associates.Discerning the appropriate information to enter into the docket in a timely and accurate manner.Producing docketing reports on request.Creating new matters in database.Reviewing files to gather needed information.Light receptionist and secretarial duties.Retrieving information from the USPTO database.Other administrative duties as assigned.

 

Requirements2+ years of docket experience with an Intellectual Property law firm.Extensive knowledge of CPI database system.Attention to detail and organization skills.Adeptness with Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe.Excellent accuracy, typing and proofreading skills.Thorough knowledge of United States Patent and Trademark filing, prosecution and registration procedures, as well as TTAB/and federal court procedures.College degree or equivalent job experience.
