Docketing Clerk
General: Under direction, assists with clerical jobs within the Docketing Department. This position requires the ability to work overtime, which often cannot be predicted in advance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Process Incoming mail
1.1. Open, scan and/or photograph all docketing correspondence.
1.2. Sort and distribute to Docketing Agents according to department procedure.
1.3. After Docketing Agent processes correspondence, copy and distribute via interoffice mail as directed.
2. Assist Docketing Agents with clerical work.
2.1. Fax, file, type and copy as directed.
3. Carpe Diem
3.1. Enter all related docketing fees into billing system in a timely manner.
4. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Ability to use Word and type 35-45/wpm.
2. Ability to operate office machines including computer, typewriter, photocopier and fax machine.
3. Ability to pay attention to detail, follow procedures and work effectively with others.
4. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Education and Experience:
This is an entry level position requiring no prior legal experience. Previous clerical experience is preferred.
