General Counsel

MCube Petroleum, Inc, an innovator in petroleum exploration & production is seeking a General Counsel to lead their in-house legal team.  This candidate must have extensive experience in the areas of securities law, contract law, corporate governance and litigation.As Chief Legal officer, candidate will provide legal advice and counsel to corporate management and will supervise and manage the corporation's outside counsel.   Responsibilities will include drafting annual meeting materials, SEC forms, executive compensation plans and agreements. Overseeing all litigation related to the organization and ensuring maximum protection of the corporation's legal rights.  Prepares and examines contracts, resolutions, forms and participates in major legal actions.

 

 

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills:  At least 6-10 years experience in securities, contract, litigation and corporate law.  Prior General Counsel experience in the areas of Oil & Gas law and in the energy industry will receive preference.  Superior academic record from an accredited law school and admitted to the Bar; excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with clients in a corporate environment is necessary.  Candidate must be willing to relocate to Seattle, Washington.
