IP Paralegal

Corporate Law Firm

Under supervision of an attorney, performs a range of substantive case-related duties. Prepares drafts of legal documents for review and approval of attorney. Performs broad-based legal research. Compiles, analyzes and summarizes data, which may include witness summarizations.

- Compute and calendar all motion and pretrial deadlines.
- Track source of client documents received and produced.
- Track date of production of documents by all parties.
- Coordinate document formatting for electronic discovery.
- Review and index document production.
- Prepare documents for filing, assuring compliance with general filing requirements and judge's specific rules for filing documents in the various courts. Drafting of pleadings. Loading all pleadings, discovery, and other relevant documents into web room.
- Assists attorneys at depositions, hearings, trials or arbitrations.
- Conducts research on various topics specific to case.
- Prepares all necessary documents for depositions. Summarizes depositions and compiles key testimony into case database.
- Locates and reviews information applicable to a particular case, person or subject via online research or personal interview.
- Compiles, analyzes and organizes case documents. Produces documents in discovery. May attend trial.
- Analyzes information from various sources. Prepares, for some clients, special reference files containing key documents frequently referred to in representation.
- Prepares numerous documents and coordinates execution and delivery of documentation to other parties' counsel.

Three years IP litigation paralegal experience required. Must have strong skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet research. Experience with legal software such as Concordance, Summation, Westlaw or similar application preferred. Trial experience also helpful.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with staff, attorneys and clients on a daily basis. Strong organizational and attention to detail required to handle large volumes of work associated with each case and transaction. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability of travel and work overtime a must.
