JUNIOR LITIGATION LEGAL ASSISTANT

A boutique litigation and corporate law firm, located directly adjacent to Central Park and the Metropolitan Musuem of Art, is seeking to hire a junior Litigation Paralegal who is planning to attend either law school or graduate school within a two year period.  The firm handles a variety of interesting cases and the job will give someone a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the corporate litigation world.  The potential candidate must have experience with organizing law firm files.  The requirements are as follows:

 
File management 
Serving documents, binding books, creating table of contents, pulling documents from court web sites, etc. 
Cite-checking
Discovery requests/document production 

 

The candidate would have to handle both the electronic and manual filing systems.The most important thing is to separate pleadings from correspondence and create books in chronological order of everything for each case or subcomponent of case;  scan documents and file them in the appropriate folder on the Firm's server. 

 

SALARY: $40,000

Must be flexible for over time.

Base Hours -  9-6.  After 6pm or before 9am, is overtime pay at time and one-half. Weekend time is all overtime pay.
