Labor/Employment Paralegal

A satellite office of a large law firm is seeking a Paralegal with 5+ years of experience for a temporary, temporary to full-time, or direct hire opportunity in Sacramento. This position is responsible for assisting attorneys in all phases of employment/labor litigation. Some duties include: preparation and issuance of subpoenas; organization, review, and maintenance of discovery and corresponding databases; deposition and trial preparation (witness binders, deposition exhibits, trial exhibits, etc); factual and legal research as needed; cite checking; prepare and review documents including notebooks, correspondence, indices, spreadsheets, and appendices for briefs; maintain docket and calendar system noting deadlines for responses and assisting with same. Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate is required. Minimum of 5 years litigation experience is required, preferably with employment/labor experience. Candidate must have excellent oral/written communication skills, strong organizational skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to master electronic discovery. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and litigation database applications including Concordance, Summation, Case Map, Live Note, Westlaw, or Lexis is required and a general knowledge of Excel is preferred. Ability to prioritize work, manage time, work flexible hours and work independently as well as under attorney instruction.
