Description




The Legal Assistant will be responsible for the following:

Create and maintain procedures for intake of all projects and inquiries for which legal assistance is sought.
Create and maintain filing system and procedures for Legal Department, and supervise clerks to ensure procedures followed and documents properly filed and tracked.
Work with Contracts Administrator to implement contracts database.
Assist in maintenance of corporate books and records, including books and record of subsidiaries.
Support General Counsel with respect to production and formatting of documents, as required.
Field requests and inquiries in the absence of the GC or SC.
Facilitate department work flow and tracking.


 Required Skills


MS Word and preferably Excel and Powerpoint.
Experience in a corporate Legal Department preferred
MUST be team player, self-starter and cool under stress.
Excellent organizational skills required. The position requires a person with good judgment and a flexible approach, and the ability to deal with senior management and outside inquiries.
5 years plus experience, preferably in a corporate law department.
The ideal candidate will have reported to a corporate GC and have had substantial responsibility for the creation and implementation of policies and procedures for the department.
