Legal Assistant - Real Etate and Estate Planning

Job Description:

Support attorney by coordinating home closings while monitoring and completing contract requirements, candidate will also be responsible for providing front office customer service.

 

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Landtech real estate closing software and in all aspects of residential real estate closings. Estate planning experience is also a plus.

Work Environment:

This is a small office in the central business district of Olive Branch, Mississippi. A premium is placed on quality of life while still being focused on meeting deadlines and giving superior customer service. 

 

Duties:

* Prepares to accomplish work results by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.



* Records sales contracts by verifying signatures; entering contract information into computer and online database; distributing copies; depositing money;

* Monitors closing schedules by maintaining document processing schedule; reporting status to attorney and inputting data into online transaction management system.

 

* Completes closing requirements by collecting and verifying loan information; entering loan information in database; providing lenders and attorneys with required documents and information.



* Completes settlement statements by verifying information; recording settlement in database; notifying finance department; forwarding warranty check and application, buyer information sheet, home owners association check and information; depositing checks.


*Greets customers, takes phone calls and schedules appointments.

 

*Completes other legal assignments and documents as needed.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

Proficient in Landtech Software, Closing Skills, MS Notary Public or the ability to become one, Attention to Detail, Analyzing Information, Written Communication, People Skills, Legal Compliance, Managing Processes, Results Driven, Proficient in Word & Excel.
