Legal Collections & Support Assistant Manager

Job Description:

Manages the suit support department, Account Representatives and Skiptracers in the field office. Responsible for making sure suit processes are handled properly and efficiently in all field offices. Monitors the handling of accounts for in house legal collections, and training on FDCPA issues. Implements policies and procedures for handling the suit process and legal collections. Ensures collection goals are attained within the legal collections guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

?Track suit process

?Tracks legal collections in their respective office(s)

?Trains and supervises Account Representatives and Skiptracers on procedures and FDCPA compliance

?Monitors collection calls and Account Representative progress-phone calls, follow-up settlements that are set up

?Manages trains and oversees support staff on suit process and procedures

?Monitors budget for support department, including court costs, and process server fees

?Maintain up to date route management

?Implements procedures and policies for suit process

?Run quarterly 507 reports to reconcile the status and status reasons of all accounts submitted for suit during each quarter of the year

?Reviews and approves settlements up to 60%

?Other duties may be assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

?Manage the legal support Supervisors, the support staff and the legal secretaries.

?Annual performance reviews.

?Attendance tracking in Kronos.

?Handles attendance issues, disciplinary action and termination.

Competencies: Need to be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as all aspects of Ontario.

Education and/or Experience:

?Bachelor?s Degree in finance, business management, or related field

?2-5 years or more management experience

?1 year or more collection experience preferred

?FDCPA training and understanding

Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Must be detail oriented. Must have ability to review and manage collection reports.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as all aspects of Ontario

Other Qualifications: Legal experience preferred
