Legal Coordinator

Major League Baseball Advanced Media, Inc. is the Internet and interactive media company of Major League Baseball. The company is seeking an immediate permanent position as a Legal Coordinator/Paralegal in the company?s Legal Department.

There will be four areas of responsibility:

(1)Internet rights enforcement, involving policing search engines and websites for copyright, trademark and other infringements and rights violations, mostly involving Major League Baseball telecasts and trademarks, tracking online infringements of MLB intellectual property and coordinating with attorneys on action and response items; under the supervision of attorneys in the department: preparation of cease and desist letters and other correspondence; and preparation of settlement agreements;

(2)litigation support, involving document collection, review and coordination with in-house and outside counsel; assisting in the preparation of research and correspondence; trial work (which may involve some travel); assisting with organization and maintenance of pleadings and other case files;

(3)copyright and trademark registrations, involving development and administration of a program to register materials with the U.S. Copyright Office and assistance with trademark research and registrations; and

(4)general support to the Legal Department?s five attorneys.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a recent college graduate with excellent academic credentials. The company welcomes applications from qualified candidates who plan to attend graduate school; however, in this situation, a minimum commitment of two years employment will be expected.

--Must be a quick study; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be detail oriented; and have excellent organizational and administrative skills;
