Employment Type: Part-Time (approximately 24 hours/week)

 

Summary:

Echelon seeks an experienced attorney to provide legal advice and support primarily for licensing and other intellectual property matters.  This position will report to Echelon?s General Counsel.

Primary duties will include:Structure, draft, review and negotiate technology-related agreements, including licensing, supply, development, services and confidentiality agreements.Assist with strategic projects, including new products and business activities.Assist in developing best practices in such areas as data protection, contracts and document retention.Assist with regulatory compliance.Assist in coordinating activities of outside counsel worldwide, with a particular emphasis on Europe.Assist with patent and trademark issues, including occasional dispute resolution.Significant opportunity to expand experience, including international, corporate governance, SEC reporting, M&A, employment and other areas of interest.  Significant opportunity to work directly with Company executive management.

 

The successful candidate is detail-oriented, organized and self-sufficient (as administrative support may be limited), and possesses excellent interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.  The candidate is also results-oriented and energetic, possesses a high degree of professionalism, integrity and self-motivation, and is able to integrate legal, business and practical analysis.

Education/Experience: Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree with a minimum of five years of intellectual property licensing and commercial contract experience, with a concentration on technology licensing and in depth knowledge of patent and trademark law.  Law firm experience preferred.  Excellent academic credentials required.  Must be a member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
