Legal, Sr. Administrative Assistant

Job Description Legal Administrative Assistant with IP background.

Provide support for one intellectual property attorney and one corporate attorney.

Provide general corporate support.

Draft, edit and file IP formal documents, in both domestic and foreign Patent Offices; assist attorney and/or outside counsel with the preparation, editing and filing of responses in USPTO and Foreign Patent Offices.

Review for accuracy all incoming USPTO correspondence; correspond with outside counsel regarding discrepancies, preparing and filing corrections as needed.

Review for accuracy and protocol, all documents requiring signatures.

Maintain patent files in prescribed department format.

Support attorneys with the scheduling of meetings, travel arrangements, calendaring, filing, etc.

Manage internal and external phone calls from outside counsel and internal clients.

Prepare and process forms and agreements.

Qualifications
Candidates must have 2-5 years experience in patent prosecution law.

Requires a minimum of 8 years administrative support experience or equivalent business experience.

Possess strong organizational skills.

Candidate must be extremely polished, possess a high level of energy and be detail oriented.

The incumbent must demonstrate proficiency in using database software (CPI), Lotus Notes, Excel, PowerPoint and word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word).

Candidate must maintain a strong degree of confidentiality due to nature of role.

Must be a team player and work collaboratively and professionally with all levels of the organization.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent, plus functional training.

Industry experience strongly preferred.
