PARALEGAL II

Paralegal II Assist attorneys and work with other paralegals by performing the following duties:
Organize, develop and update software tracking systems / databases to improve efficiency of tracking, monitoring and retrieving documents and relevant information
Work directly with company employees outside of the Legal Department, as well as external customers and business partners, regarding contract management
Prepare and edit draft legal documents for review by attorneys, including consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and sales contracts
Conduct legal research related to federal, state or local laws, rules and regulations
Assist with factual investigations
Assist with litigation-related tasks
Facilitate communication of legal advice from attorneys to clients
Prepare and edit routine as well as complex correspondence, memoranda and other documents related to Legal Department projects


Requirements:

Requirements
4-year college degree or paralegal certificate
Minimum three years paralegal experience
Knowledge of general legal principles in connection with litigation, contracts and commercial law. Knowledge of healthcare legal issues (such as Medicare, FDA matters and HIPAA) a plus.
Experience with contracts a plus (e.g., drafting contracts for attorney review using standard templates; reviewing proposed contracts to identify issues for attorney review)
Exceptional organizational skills; ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced environment and handle project assignments with minimal supervision using good independent judgment
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to concisely and effectively explain complex issues.
Computer skills relevant to the preparation and tracking of legal documents, such as proficiency in Word, Excel, database applications, and online legal & factual research.
