PARALEGAL SUPERVISOR

Part of the commercial legal team to manage, mentor and direct assigned paralegals and support staff, to support assigned clients within the Pharmaceutical Products group and to draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and ensure that contracts meet Abbott legal standards. Work independently and directly with all levels of internal clients, other legal departments and external parties using discretion and independent judgment on contracts and issues. Negotiate and resolve legal issues raised by the other party to agreements, ie: clinical study, confidentiality, laboratory services, clinical research organization, software licensing, consumer marketing, transportation, rental, group purchasing org., supply and database usage, and reviewing bid responses for clients. Routinely handle complex and diverse problems with support from internal attorneys as necessary. Develop and update templates used by clients for routine agreements; Develop and present training programs to client groups on legal issues; Perform Internet-based research on legal issues; Manage Hart-Scott-Rodino filings; and other projects as requested by attorneys.

Qualifications
At least six years negotiating contracts, or at least three years experience in a transactional legal setting plus at least three years negotiating contracts; and at least two years in a corporate law environment. Necessary skills include strong oral/written communication, organization/analytical and interpersonal skills, strong leadership competencies, attention to detail, strong software database and Internet search skills and project management abilities. Management experience also desired, but not necessary. Must be able to multi-task, collect and analyze information, set own work priorities and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program
