Olympic Health Management

Paralegal

Summary: Assists in assurance of overall corporate legal compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Research legal issues, statutes, and regulations within assigned business areas.

2. Prepare written analysis and provide professional interpretation of regulatory schemes.

3. Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies.

4. Draft and file policy forms and contracts.

5. Assist with preparation of filings for state insurance departments and interface with state regulatory bodies to monitor status of those filings.

6. Review and summarize state and national requirements and restrictions.

7. Maintain a system of contract control/management/tracking.

8. Review marketing programs/materials for regulatory compliance.

9. Obtain and maintain state licenses for holding company system.

10. Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Read interpret and explain numerous legal documents.
* Input, retrieve and compile data utilizing strong personal computer skills, specifically working in MS Word with minimum keyboarding speed of 70 wpm.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal document preparation.
* Demonstrate strong organizational skills with emphasis on attention to detail to include strong proofreading skills.
* Deal gracefully in time sensitive, deadline-driven, stressful situations.

Education and Experience:
* Minimum of two years law office, corporate legal, or compliance experience
* Paralegal certificate

Desired:
* Familiarity with Lexis/Nexis
* Experience in, or understanding of, hospitals, healthcare and/or insurance industry
