Paralegal Manager

We currently have an excellent opportunity in a large Silicon Valley law firm for a Legal Assistant Manager.

The Legal Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the Legal Assistant Department for the Silicon Valley Office and for ensuring that the Legal Assistants provide quality services to the litigation and corporate lawyers and the firm's clients. Management responsibilities include planning, staffing, recruiting, professional development, workload allocation, utilization, and performance management.

The successful candidate should possess a BA/BS degree with at least 10 years experience as a litigation legal assistant (preferably in IP) and a minimum of 5 years administrative and supervisory experience in a law firm. Must have strong legal assistant skills as well as strong leadership and management skills. Must demonstrate excellent planning and organization skills including the ability to manage a number of projects concurrently and to meet deadlines; excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels; a proactive approach and the ability to work "hands-on" as required. Strong decision-making and problem-solving expertise. Must have knowledge of federal, state and court of appeal rules and procedures.
