Job Description:
Local Bio-Technical/Pharmaceutical Company in Thousand Oaks is looking for a Corporate paralegal to work in the Business Law Group. The paralegal will support global commercial operations of the company, specifically servicing the legal requirements of Sales and Marketing teams, Medical Affairs and Stategic Sourcing and Procurement. The paralegal will be expected to perform substantive legal work of limited to moderate scope and complexity under the supervision of an attorney, including drafting and negotiating vendor contracts, consulting services agreements, grant agreements, sponsorships, data purchase agreements, sponsorship agreements, medical education agreements, training agreements, and other media related agreements, The position will also entail assisting paralegals, support staff and attorneys preparing agreements for review interacting with the company's procurement representatives, sales and marketing teams, Medical Affairs, and various other departments, and implementing and developing various processes and procedures both internally with the paralegal team and externally with client groups. Candidates should have an Associate of Arts, a Bachelor of Arts, or completion of an ABA-approved legal assistant/paralegal program with at least five to seven years of experience in a paralegal role or an equivalent law-related field. The paralegal must have solid knowledge and understanding of contract law as well as an established pattern of proactively addressing client's stated needs and developing solutions. Extensive experience in grammar editing and composition; strong communication skills- both verbal and written; detailed understanding of basic legal theory and practice areas; strong computer literacy and experience with applicable hardware/software are highly desiresable.
