Patent Attorney

Job Purpose:

Protect clients' intellectual property by preparing and prosecuting patent applications.

 

Duties:

-Drafting patent applications to meet high firm standards

 

-Prosecuting pending applications consistent with and sensitive to clients' goals

 

-Meeting with inventors to help develop and define inventions

 

-Interviewing Examiners to gain allowances

 

-Preparing prosecution appeal briefs

 

-Providing clients with litigation support documents

 

-Maintaining docket status and entering billable time into billing system

 

Requirements:

-3rd year attorney or higher

 

-PTO registration

 

-State Bar member

 

-intelligence, professionalism, and excellent communication skills

 

-JD degree from an accredited law school
