Practice Support Electronic Discovery Consultant

Under the direction of the Director of Practice Support, this position is responsible for the provision of electronic discovery consulting and education services.

Responsibilities:Preparing the Electronic Discovery strategic plan, goals and budget in collaboration with the Director of Practice Support; Executing projects in line with the strategic plan and within budget to achieve goals; Designing, preparing, implementing and maintaining Electronic Discovery best practices and standard operating procedures in collaboration with the Director of Practice Support and other Practice Support Teams; Organizing, developing and maintaining Firm-wide electronic discovery education and training program and delivering education and training sessions; Consulting with legal teams, clients and Practice Support teams on collection, management, review, processing and/or production of electronically stored information (ESI); Marketing the Practice Support Department and Electronic Discovery Consulting Services within the firm and to clients as needed; Participating in and reviewing Practice Support projects and providing input to other teams of the Practice Support department on new procedures and systems; and Maintaining a strong working relationship with the local IT function, assisting with trouble-shooting software on the network and supporting the IT Department with its technology initiatives and objectives.

Requirements:At least three years of complex litigation or related practice experience, experience in litigation response, e-discovery or records management issues preferred; Completion of Juris Doctor degree, admission to at least one Bar preferred; and Degree in computer science of comparable experience;

Knowledge of:Extensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, management and processing of electronically stored information (ESI) as they relate to legal matters, including the use of various ESI management and review tools and applications; Extensive knowledge of application service providers (ASPs) such as Kroll/Ontrack, Applied Discovery, CaseCentral, Attenex, Cataphora, CaseData, Stratify, etc; Windows Operating Systems; Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio; Document management systems such as WorkSite, iManage, Hummingbird DM, etc.; Second tier litigation support applications such as Ringtail, Introspect eCM, JFS Litigator?s Notebook/Lotus Notes, etc.; First tier litigation support applications such as Concordance/Opticon, Summation, DB/TextWorks, CaseMap/TimeMap/NoteMap and other data base applications; LiveNote or comparable transcript managements applications; and Transactional extranet products such as NetDocuments, CaseCentral.
