Real Estate Assistant II

This North Houston (Greenspoint) company is searching for a Real Estate Assistant II to add to their team on a long term contract basis (12-18 months).  The ideal candidate will be a key factor in assisting in all phases of escrow closing and document preparation for the Real Estate Closing Coordinator. This candidate will be required to work late and/or on weekends as requested.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are essential functions in assisting with a Real Estate closing:
*Analysis of title commitments including the identification of title defects and encumbrance removal prior to selling property
*Process documentation needed to cure title defects
*Reviews the closing file checklist and determines the status to take necessary action; data collection, prepares for drafting of closing documents
*Prepares Draft-Closing Documents

QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for talented professionals with actual real estate transactional experience including the following:
*Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously as well as analyze, research, organize, and process title commitments including but not limited to identifying title defects, clearing titles prior to closings, and draft closing documents
*Strong expertise in recognizing defective legal documents
*Must be able to speak, interpret, write, and understand legal terminology
*Knowledge of legal proceedings for titles and deeds
*Proficient on MS Word, Excel and Outlook
*Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills: able to manage priorities and workflow
*Strong interpersonal skills
*Acute attention to detail

*Excellent grammatical and spelling skills
*Ability to deal and communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
*2 years as an Escrow Assistant in a commercial real estate title insurance company, or
*2 years paralegal experience in the real estate department of a law firm.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
The training desired includes any or all of the following:
*Texas Real Estate Sales License
*Paralegal certificate
*Law degree
