REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL - Downtown

This New Orleans based firm with a growing presence in Houston is in need of an experienced real estate paralegal.? This position is responsible for assisting the Real Estate Partner with various activities surrounding the development and acquisition of commercial properties.?

Duties

????????? Review and analysis of title commitments and underlying title documents, and negotiation with title officers regarding policy form and endorsement requirements;

????????? Ordering and reviewing ALTA surveys and working with surveyors regarding survey requirements and issues;

????????? Preparation of title objection and defect notices;

????????? Zoning review and analysis;

????????? Review of contracts, tracking of critical dates and preparation of closing checklists;

????????? Preparation of conveyance documents and escrow instructions;

????????? Organization and coordination of closings, including portfolios of multiple properties and single assets;

????????? Review title policy and all closing documents, and preparation and distribution of closing binders;

????????? Review and summarize restrictive covenants and prepare estoppels relating to same;

????????? Respond to client?s lender?s requests relating to title, survey and/or formation document matters; and

????????? Corporate maintenance for real estate clients and formation of new entities in connection with real estate acquisitions.

A bachelor?s degree and/or paralegal certificate along with a minimum 8 years of commercial real estate experience in a law firm are required. Excellent salary plus benefits.
