Senior Business Leader, Managing Counsel

Major Accountabilities:

The Senior Business Leader, Managing GTO Counsel will be responsible for managing the legal support for the Global Technology Operation (GTO) business unit of MasterCard. The individual selected must have both the technical legal skills and the business acumen to balance the protection of the organization and support the advancement of the commercial needs of the business. Substantive legal work includes complex technology transfer and licensing arrangements; data processing, telecommunications and related services agreements; general contract and corporate law. Responsibilities include advising management on a variety of legal issues, supervising staff, drafting and preparing legal documentation, and conducting contract and dispute negotiation.The legal matters often have significant impact on MasterCard's operations strategies. Individual will lead a department comprised of 6 professionals, including 2 attorneys.
JD required.

Experience Required:

Extensive substantive experience with technology law in a corporation or law firm required. Prior corporate legal experience in a management role preferred. Must be able to work independently. Must demonstrate effective leadership and negotiation skills. Must be able to work on highly complex legal issues.
