Senior Manager, National Facility - Engineering

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:



Leadership & Management

Acts as site liaison to get work performed between work order provider and local staff – manages and leads relationship with outsourcer.
Provides leadership and support to staff
Acts as point person for facility management [the "face" of facility management] to managers, directors and Vice Presidents.
Works with Business Leadership (Directors and Vice Presidents) to develop and monitor budgets and initiatives
Operations

Manages vender relationship for assigned T-Mobile business unit.
Sets and prioritizes work for work order provider and vendors with minimum impact or inconvenience to customers and their productivity
Oversees contractors of outsourced services
Secures and distributes warranty information
Responsible for cost controls associated with maintaining equipment and facilities at assigned facilities
Administers leases
Assures the optimal function of building systems
Ensures payment of vendor invoices as needed
Provides the implementation and coordination of security systems and controls
Compliance

Responsible for compliance with standards and coordinates with landlord
Ensures facilities are safe and secure
Acts to ensure compliance with building codes, environmental, health and safety standards
Develops and enforces policies and procedures

Discretion & Independent Judgment

Priorities work for outsourcer and team
Ensures accuracy and approval of vendor payments
Determines when T-mobile's involvement, including legal, is necessary with landlord
Evaluates repair and maintenance issues and determines best course of action
Identifies process improvement opportunities and leads team to accomplish solutions
Acts on behalf of Business Leadership (as appropriate) in making decisions regarding facility repairs, maintenance and upgrades.
Responsible and accountable for business unit's operating and capital budget preparation and adherence.
Takes leadership in program and project management.

Management Authority

Regularly directs the work of two or more full time employees or the FTE equivalent Interviewing, selecting and training employees
Adjusting pay rates, work schedules and approving leaves
Conducting performance reviews
Planning and controlling budget expenditures
Exercises authority to suspend, discipline and terminate employees
Is accountable for the work of a recognized organizational unit
Appraises employees to determine eligibility for promotion or other status changes
Determining and securing the resources and materials needed to perform the work of the unit
Functional/Technical Skills

Advanced understanding of facility operations - repairs and maintenance
Advanced understanding of building codes, environmental, health and safety standards
Advanced understanding of security systems and controls
Advanced understanding of repairs and maintenance contracts
Advanced understanding of budgeting and finances
Strong program and project management skills
Solid knowledge of appropriate metrics and controls of facility management
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred and at least 5 years experience in facility operations, office management or a related field.
Experience creating and managing budgets required.
Must have strong and proven leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
Experience managing teams preferred.
Experience working in a critical environment may be required depending on assigned locations
Understanding of critical systems and operations may be required depending on assigned locations
Experience with complex project management
Environmental/Physical Demands

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and available during irregular hours.
