Senior Paralegal

Senior Paralegal     The LCA group supporting Procurement, Operations and IT has an opening for a senior paralegal to help support Microsoft Operations and Entertainment and Devices Operations. This senior paralegal will work with the responsible attorney to provide frontline support to Operations clients.

 

The responsibilities include:

Drafting and negotiating various transactional documents, including supply chain agreements (manufacturing, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, licensing and a wide variety of other commercial transactions) and various documentation and other written materials, under the direction of an attorney and in coordination with business groups; Counseling and advising business clients on a broad range of complex legal, business, and strategic issues, including supply chain issues, licensing, confidentiality and intellectual property protection; Coordinating with other LCA colleagues and outside legal counsel to provide specialized expertise in intellectual property, e-commerce, privacy, litigation, antitrust, regulatory compliance, government affairs, etc. as required by the business; Formulating and deploying process-related improvements related to the provision of legal support services to help the business groups achieve its goals, objectives and initiatives; and Advising on, and providing training to, business group contacts on relevant legal issues, Microsoft legal policies, and processes.

 

Qualifications for this position include:

College degree or relevant (equivalent) work experience; Seven or more years of paralegal experience in support of intellectual property transactional work, preferably relevant in-house experience and/or with a top law firm; Familiarity with supply chain and operations issues a plus; Sound, practical business judgment, and a problem-solving, client focused, results oriented approach committed to adding value to our business; Superior analytical and negotiation skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong ability to work independently, pragmatically and efficiently, and to prioritize workflow to frequent workload fluctuations, meet challenging deadlines, and manage projects in a demanding fast-paced environment; and Ability to work with a diverse set of personalities and professional backgrounds in a team environment.
