Provide direct support to the lawyers who render legal advice and assistance on business matters.  Perform complex factual and legal research of customer disputes, threatened litigation, business issues and proposals.  Prepare factual and legal memoranda and letters.  At the request of lawyers, negotiate, communicate and coordinate resolutions and settlements with customers, in-house and external counsel, and business clients.  The paralegal is also required to serve as a liaison between the Legal Dept. and client organizations, as well as outside counsel.  Provide legal assistance to and assist with managing the subpoena compliance unit.

The paralegal is required to have, at a minimum, an Associates or Bachelors Degree in Paralegal Studies from an ABA accredited institution, one or more years experience in the credit card business, and excellent organizational, PC, verbal, and written communication skills.  Must be a motivated and independent worker.  Litigation or dispute resolution experience preferred.
