Tax Attorney - In-house - Financial Services/Insurance

Financial Services Company seeks a Tax Attorney with Corporate tax experience in the Finacial Services or Insurance arena.

Desirable candidate will be an attorney with 4-8 years experience in taxation. Candidate will provide legal advice to various members of the corporate organization with respect to corporate tax issues, including M&A transactions, investment transactions, general corporate taxation, tax planning, legislative and regulatory matters. The position also requires providing advice in connection with tax controversy work, including audits, administrative appeals and litigation. Substantial experience in general corporate tax matters is essential. Specific experience in the taxation of insurance companies, investments/financial instruments, international operations, consolidated returns, employee benefits, and tax controversies and/or state/local tax matters would be ideal. In addition to significant technical tax expertise involving complex tax matters, the position demands diverse problem solving abilities and strong interpersonal and communcation skills in dealing with entreprenuerial business clients, other attorneys, outside counsel and senior management.

Large Law Firm or fortune 500 Corporate Law Department experience preferred. LLM in taxation and/or MBA a plus
