POSITION TITLE:   3rd Shift Supervisor

 

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

 

 

Primary Purpose of Position

The shift supervisor is responsible for managing and controlling the complete day to day operation of the Hood Packaging Corporation facility on an eight or twelve hour shift basis. This includes, but is not limited to: Extrusion, Press, Plate making, Plate mounting, Ink Blending, Slitter, Converting, Maintenance and Shipping Departments. 

 

Areas of Responsibility

Quality, Safety, Waste, Productivity, Reporting and Reports, Personnel, Housekeeping, Materials and Supplies

 Knowledge and Skills1.  Working knowledge of flexible packaging process as it relates to printing, laminating, converting and slitting

2.  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

3.  Understands principles and practices of quality management.

4.  Works cooperatively with others. Understands team concept and promotes a team environment.

5.  Trains all associates to reach maximum levels of production.

6.  Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve for printing, mounting, laminating, slitting and converting.

 Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Experience: 7 years in a flexible packaging industry or five years as a manufacturing supervisor and demonstrated leadership abilities
