  Our client is a Japanese distributor of laser cutting machines manufactured by their parent company in Japan.  Our client has grown solidly through the years, and is recognized as one of the world's long-standing industry leader in a variety of machine tool technologies including industrial laser cutting machines and other CNC controlled machine tools.  Machine tools the Company produces are used in various industrial applications, including the automobile industry.  They have been in operation here in the US for over 35 years, and in support of our client's vast network of dealerships and commitment to customer satisfaction and service, our client seeks an experienced Service Engineer for Laser Cutting Machines to be based out of the Northern California area.  This is a regional position based in Northern California, but will travel throughout North America as required.  The candidate must possess good communication skills and must have experience Repairing, Troubleshooting, Modifying and Testing complex technical problems on industrial machine tool products.  Services are provided to end user via telephone and or on site visit.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

? Install new machinery purchased by customers.

? Communicate professionally and effectively with customers via telephone

? Diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair

? Diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephone

? Examine machines mechanically and perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding mechanically

? Resolve customer complaints through on site and off site support

? Effectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problem products

? Document in detail product problems and resolutions

? Manage heavy inbound telephone load efficiently and in a professional manner

 

Requirements:

? Must be willing to travel 100% 5 days a week

? 2yr Electronic or Technical Degree

? 2~5 years experience as field service in the machine tool industry a plus

? Skilled in Electrical measurement and inspection techniques

(Voltmeter, Oscilloscope and other measurement equipment)

? Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems

(Ballscrews, bearings, gearing and various way systems)

? Skilled in mechanical measurement and inspection techniques

(Indicators, micrometers, gage blocks and optical comparitor. Laser Interferometer and ballbar a plus)

? Working knowledge of how to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams

? CNC programming skills necessary

? Ability to operate computer using windows operating system

? Excellent oral and written communication skills

? Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
