Advanced Tool and Die Maker

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provide the highest quality tools to be used in the press department in a most efficient and economical way.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Active involvement in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.
2. Make complex forming, drawing, piercing and blanking dies and all types of jigs and fixtures, and progressive tooling.
3. Perform complex layout work.
4. Offer instruction to tool room employees on how to make and repair quality tools, interpret blueprints and any other tool room functions.
5. Comply with all Company policies.
6. Notify supervisor (or lead person) immediately of problems, concerns or questions you may have.
7. Keep work area clean and free of hazards.
8. Follow special job instructions as communicated by supervisor or lead person and as on job card.
9. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead person.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred

-Machine operator or production experience strongly preferred
-Must have thorough working knowledge of shop math including trigonometry
-Must be able to interpret blueprints
-Must have strong training skills

-Willing to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
-Ability to read English as required for interpreting job cards and prints
-Safety and quality minded
-Self-motivated; takes initiative.
-Some heavy lifting involved.
-Must be able to read a micrometer and scale.
