Assistant Manager - Purchasing

OEM Manufacturer is seeking high energy manager for cost effective component and packaging materials purchasing manager/assistant manager.  Previous inventory control and supplier development experience in a high volume facility required; price negotiation and automotive quality system experience preferred.  Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.  Detailed communication and reporting skills are essential for this position.  Previous production experience a plus.  Will consider individual with some college and experience commensurate to 10 years.  Responsibilities include the following:

 Ensure purchase orders, follow-up and expediting of materials are executed to efficiently receive product that supports execution of monthly/annual production plans;Coordinate locating/evaluating new suppliers; ensure supplier compliance with TS16949 regulations; conduct annual quality assessment visits and on-going supplier performance evaluations;Ensure component parts are ordered correctly according to planning estimates;Oversee all department operations;Provide adequate training for all Purchasing Group personnel;Communicate any deviations from plan to appropriate departments.
