BUYER/PLANNER

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Buyer Planner for its Gilbert, AZ facility.

This exempt position requires a background in technical materials and services purchasing with strong exposure to SAP Materials Management. Ideal candidate will have additional experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing and service part acquisition with sales to international markets. The position supports OEM authorized semiconductor equipment remanufacturing and parts sales businesses from point of order to delivery of product.

* Negotiate, create, and manage SAP purchase orders from issuance through payment and purchase order closure. Use developed knowledge and skills to negotiate purchase agreements and supply contracts.
* Specialize in sourcing aged or obsolete parts from original part manufacturer or alternative sources of supply, both domestic and international.
* Perform supplier audits and assessments as part of supplier audit teams.
* Develop and implement improved cost, delivery, and quality strategies.
* Develop continuous improvement metrics and reporting systems for work load, cycle time, on time delivery, purchase price variance, and cost savings.

Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent related work experience
Five years experience in technical procurement
Experience and working knowledge in SAP Purchasing, MRP, and related processes.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project
ISO9000 and or QS9000 work background a plus
NAPM (ISM) and or APICS certification a plus
Solid experience as a team player required.
