CNC Expert

Our client has an exciting position for a 'hands on' individual that could grow into a management position.

 

DESCRIPTION:

Successful candidate will be:

-Responsible for developing and maintaining the methods and processes used to manufacture company products.

-Provide leadership to assure the productive use of working capital and human resources through the use of 'lean' principals.

-Responsible for developing and maintaining CNC programs and a Tool Management System.

-Proactively makes improvement in methods and processes to increase productivity and reduce scrap.

-Provides methods engineering support at multiple Sonic facilities.

-Responsible for the supervision of subordinates in the execution of their duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

-Develops and maintains shop floor work instructions

-Coordinates manufacturing activities between Manufacturing, Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering (Estimating and Planning), Quality and Engineering

-Conceptualizes and provides high level designs of tooling, fixtures, and tool systems for Manufacturing and Quality

-Manages the Tool Management System to assure concurrency of design and documentation with Quality and Engineering

-Writes and tests Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programs. Provides coordination and assures the availability of CNC programs to point of use

-Assesses, analyses and develops best equipment, tools, and methods to produce companies products

-Leads cross functional teams to accomplish and execute objectives established by management

-Monitors department expenses to assure conformance with department budget

-Provides leadership and training to manufacturing employees in methods to maximize their productivity

-Participates on various teams throughout the company as required from time to time


REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Minimum 5 years CNC machine shop experience
-CNC programming, tool design and deployment experience ('deployment' experience means actual implementation of)

-'Lean' production knowledge

-Able to plan, organize, schedule and coordinate Methods Engineering activity

-Excellent written and oral communication skills

-Computer literacy in Windows environment

-Proven team player and leader

-Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
