CNC Machinist

Job Purpose:

Milling of titanium welded assemblies to mate to other related adjacent components.  Parts range from small simple machining of rectangular tabs of certified material, to milling mating surfaces of parts and final milling of windswept 5-axis surfaces of complex parts.  Single job title for all production tasks in Factory.  Employees may work multiple job tasks on any given day. 



Duties:

* Prepares for work assignment; studying drawings, blueprints, planning and specifications.



* Sets-up equipment by setting adjustments to match specifications; testing tolerances; installation of
tooling and on-machine probing of assemblies.



* Performs milling operations on parts by operating equipment; using some handtools.

*  Performs other tasks including scribing witness lines, placing detail parts in assembly tools, measuring
   assembled detail parts using a portable CMM FARO arm, removing parts from tools, cleaning parts in dip
tank, moving hardware around factory, supporting welders with inert gas back purge gas, beadshaving 
and deburring welded assemblies and machined parts.



* Verifies parts by using precision measuring instruments; testing production routine and on-machine
probing.  Operation of CMM is used in conjunction with the more complex machining.



* Documents component progress with interim measurements to assure quality outcomes and
maintains records.



* Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.



* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.



* Accomplishes operations and organization mission by supporting with multiple skills as needed.

 

*  Employees must be flexible to support various shift and task and overtime assignments as necessary.
