CNC Machinist / Set-up Operator

Experienced Machinist / Set-up Operator needed for Florence, SC manufacturer to work 24/7 rotating shifts and alternating weekends.

 

Responsibilities:
Set-up and operate a wide variety of machining equipment to quality standards
Work from basic bluprints, process sheets, and verbal instructions
Use precision measuring equipment
Assist fellow employees and train less experienced employees  
 Provide personal hand tools in accordance with Company Policy
Handle and move material as required
Note and report any material or equipment problems, which may arise
Utilize basic shop math
Physical Requirement:  Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

 

Hard Skills Required:
Ability to use scales, mics, calipers, optical comparator, height stand, all types of standards and special gaging (thread gages, plug gages, dial indicators, depth and barrel gages) with set masters.
Ability to operate and maintain setup on machines such as: Hardinge Lathes, Swaging, Deburring, Tracer Lathes, Milling Machines, Centerless Grinder, Stamp & Forming Press Machines

 

Soft Skills Required:
 High School Diploma or equivalent
3-4 years experience in a machining environment
Milling, Drilling, Threading, Turning, Grinding
Mechanical Aptitude and Shop Math
Advanced Blue Print Reading
Stable Work History
Must pass a drug screen and background check.
Work Key Levels:  Reading (4), Applied Math (5), Locating Information (5), Applied Technology(5)
