CNC Operator I (DAYS) min 1 year exp. - (DC11536)

Position Summary: Responsible for the production of high quality ceramic products.


Essential Functions:

Meets or exceeds all requirements of Production Operator II.

Performs detail-oriented tasks utilizing intermediate language and math skills.
Must possess good eye-hand coordination.

Performs tasks requiring the use and application of SPC.

Follows approved work instructions to ensure the production of high quality ceramic products.

Operates machine(s) in assigned area under very limited or no supervision.
Performs set-ups on CNC machines and suggests process improvements to lead/supervisor.

Makes necessary adjustments to equipment to meet production/quality requirements, such as work offsets, feed rates, and tool geometry.

Demonstrates ability to generate programs on two-axis programmed machines as required; may make minor changes to existing programs.

Performs own inspection as required; understands fundamental inspection techniques, including general knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Sets good example for others, serves as a good role model.

Willingly accepts the responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge; trains other employees.

Understands and meets quality standards. Seeks to minimize reject rate.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Supports and helps to implement new ideas.

Possesses the ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions.

Is proficient at using the manufacturing computer system to accurately enter time, part transfers, scrap and any other transactions necessary to maintain accurate and timely records.

Must maintain acceptable level of performance.
