Cleaning Room Supervisor

Cleaning Room Supervisor Description: Volt is currently looking for a Supervisor for an opening with a company in the Quad City area. Duties are Oversees 50+ employees, including Arc Air Operators, Welders, Press Operators, Burner-large Castings, Burner, Chipper-rough, Arc Air Grinder, Combination Grinder, Hand Grinder, Machine Grinder, Stand Grinder, Swing Grinder, Heat Treat Operator, Shot Blast Operator, Wheelabrator Operator, Shipper, Press Loader Helper, Shot Blast Loader, Rotor Blast Operator, Lift Truck Operator, Casting Sorters and Laborers. Supervise production employees in the cleaning operations of welding, burning, pressing, chipping and grinding as assigned by the General Supervisor.
Responsibilities include:
* Schedules work assignments according to weekly production schedules; revises these schedules as priorities change.
* Assigns employees to their tasks and continuously checks their work.
* Coordinators the movements of castings within area.
* Arranges for an adequate supply of grinding wheels, welding rod, etc to the necessary areas.
* Checks piece rates to verify incentive standards.
* Oversees the movement of priority order castings through operations such as testing, inspection and heat treat.
* Assists Melting Department by controlling segregation of scrap.
* Works with Inspection Supervisor in determining amount of rework or cleaning operations required to meet quality standards.
* Arranges for repair of equipment.
* Works closely with other supervisors to assure adequate work load in all departments.
* Administers company and government policies regarding safe working conditions.
* Interview prospective employees and make hiring recommendations to Human Resources.
* Takes disciplinary action with employees when necessary, and ensures that employees are performing at expected levels.

Requirements:
Prior supervisory experience highly preferred but will consider candidate with extensive foundry experience.
* Experience in foundry work preferred but will consider candidate with heavy industrial/manufacturing experience.
* Must have experience in welding, burning, pressing, chipping and grinding.
* Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift.

Pay Rate: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 Annual DOE
