Contact Lumber Company, a technology oriented secondary wood products company located in Central Oregon, is seeking qualified candidates interested in a career dedicated to leading and training teams in continuous improvement. Contact is a manufacturing company producing highly engineered components for America's leading producers of doors, windows, furniture, and architectural products. The position will work closely with all area managers and supervisors to coordinate plant wide improvements. The position will report to the VP of Manufacturing.

 

Key Requirements:

 Skills and ability to teach CI principles, at all levels of the organizationStrong experience in implementing lean manufacturing principlesWorking knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and toolsExperience in Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, mistake proofing,& SMEDExperience in implementing visual controlsExperience in SPCEngineering degree, preferably in Industiral EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of CI work experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

. Work with production teams at all levels to implement CI across a work force of 600

. Support lean manufacturing initiatives

. Lead an average of one Kaizen project per month

. Train and guide 6 full time area trainers

. Analyze opportunities and incorporate high priority ideas in the CI plan

. Actively support our ISO 9000 implementation.

. Be a key leader in waste reduction initiatives for various value streams

. Manage many projects concurrently

. Be sought after by teams as a valuable resource

. Audit prior projects to ensure that improvements are not lost

. Work with our customers and vendors to support CI initiatives
