Contracts Manager - San Diego, California

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Contracts the Contract Manager shall prepare proposals, negotiate, administer contracts and their change orders.  Identify contract issues and make recommendations to management to resolve such issues.  Be part of the management team and work closely with the Program Manager when developing contract strategy, and supervise other contract administration and/or administrative staff as required. Principle point of contact for all contract correspondence, which includes incoming and outgoing correspondence.  Liaison with the customer. Assist in preparation of contract proposals including change orders. Prepare and submit invoices. Monitor payments. Set up and ensure completeness of contract files. Prepare contract analysis and coordinate contract requirements with all departments.  Negotiate contracts and change orders. Provide contract advice and strategy to management. Administer contract including contract closeout. Participate in contract and program reviews. Support major proposal efforts and Teaming /Alliance Agreement. Ability to travel.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four-year college degree plus an excess of eight years experience in contract administration and negotiations. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and work well with others.  Must be able to establish priority and meet deadlines with minimal supervision or administrative support. Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel.
