Core Process Manager - Manufacturing

This is a durable consumer products manufacturer that is expanding and has sales in excess of $250M.They are promoting a key manager and this has cause a need for an Assembly / Fabrication Core Process  Manager.  The GM says, "The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in manufacturing engineering or business and most of my guys have MBA's" (good experience will off set the MBA). The main thrust of the position is to coordinate day-to-day activities to maintain scheduled production requirements within primary area of responsibility. Provide direction and training to the respective Production Coordinators under their Supervision.

Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree, MBA is a strong plus
2. A minimum 5 years of experience in a medium/high volume, original equipment manufacturing environment (no tier 1 or tier 2 suppliers)
3. Must have advanced understanding of process control and production scheduling, and be experienced in handling multiple functions.
4. Must be a pro-active change agent who is well versed in lean manufacturing practices
5. Computer literacy is desired, specifically the ability to demonstrate proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, basic problem solving and troubleshooting ability, along with proven leadership capabilities

Duties:
1. Lead several manufacturing groups and ensure that employees are properly trained in the areas of equipment operation, quality policy and safety. There will be 4 supervisors and a mechanical engineer directly reporting to this person, and about 250 dotted line reports.
2. Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support
3. Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating budgets
4. Work to continuously improve processes and make them leaner and reduce inventories
5. Interact with the Union Steering Committee on a daily basis to insure labor harmony.
