Overview

 

Assists the Chief Financial Officer in the implementation and management of the corporation?s safety and risk management programs.  Responsible for administration and reporting of loss control programs and processes, communication of programs to five business units and departmental accounting.

 Responsibilities

 

Safety and Loss Control

 

?  Coordinate internal and external loss control activity

?  Complete draft safety policy, performance dashboard, appropriate procedures and identifying benchmarks

?  Work with business units to coordinate and support facility-based safety committees

?  Complete implementation of behavioral-based safety program at all business units

?  Assist subsidiaries with their review and inspection of facilities with a focus on loss reduction

?  Review, report and provide recommendations on loss prevention reports

 Communication

?  Develop and maintain a Safety Manual for distribution to corporate and business units management and supervisory personnel

?  Review and provide loss prevention data to management and business units, identifying trends and appropriate techniques to avoid exposures and reduce frequency and severity of claims

?  Develop and provide management reports for current and historical safety activities

 Program Processes and Procedures

?  Audit outside loss control providers for effectiveness and cost containment

?  Develop procedures for business unit accident investigation and reports

?  Work with Claims Manager to identify core causes of accidents

 Qualifications

 Education

 

?  College degree, preferably with area of study in Business, Finance, or Risk Management

?  Supervisory experience

?  CPCU, ARM, or CSP designation Experience

 

?  Minimum five years in occupational health, safety and environmental management

?  Behavioral safety program experience

?  Excellent oral and written communication skills

?  Strong interpersonal skills

?  Excellent administrative and organizational skills

?  Computer skills in Windows environment, working knowledge of Word, Excel, on-line RMIS data base systems
