Customer Support DB2
Title: Customer support - DB2

Essential Characteristics:
Strong leadership skills and excellent communication ability.
Must be available for duration and w2 employee during project.
SKILL NEEDS
Database - DB2 zSeries
DB2 for z/OS (V8), DB2 Data sharing, z/OS systems programming knowledge
DB2 for z/OS Tools (HPU, BPA, Performance monitors), z/OS and parallel sysplex
Desired:
Knowledge of DB2 Connect.
Some IMS knowledge.
REXX and any other application coding skills.
Project Details:
- Highly skilled DB2 for z/OS systems programmer person to work on a high profile, demanding customer account, supporting customer DB2 systems programmers and DBA's.
Team:
-Would be part of an Large Systems Support team of various technical specialists.
-Would assist with the following areas:
>Installation and migration of DB2 versions V8;
>Maintenance rollouts;
>SQL tuning;
>Problem analysis and problem resolution, driving problems to closure in a team environment, working with DB2 level 2 support;
>Consulting on the use of DB2 functions;
>Data sharing in a large parallel sysplex environment;
>Troubleshooting distributed application problems (knowledge of DB2 Connect is desirable would be very useful);
>DB2 education and presentations;
>Performing Quality Assurance Doing QA on proposed DB2 changes;
>DB2 Systems tuning, capacity planning and performance monitoring;
>On-call rotation for systems programming support and be available as needed to support for client?s primary on-call rotation;
>DBA support including help with utilities.

Knowledge of DB2 Connect would be very helpful.
