DESIGN ENGINEER

We currently have one open Design Engineer position.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The incumbent will be capable of working relatively independently within the constraints of multiple projects, while also working with other engineers, technicians, and manufacturing to provide engineering documents for finished products, packaging, assemblies, components, and fixtures.  The Design Engineer must have extensive background in mechanical design and development including knowledge, practices, and skills to create HVAC and Fan Coil equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

? Provides engineering services at concept generation phase, prototyping, and through implementation of complete manufacturing solutions

? Extensive knowledge of component manufacturing processes coupled with HVAC and Fan Coil experience

? Knowledge of, or application experience in material testing, stress analysis and ASTM standards

? Able to recommend known technical solutions to customers and manufacturing and develops solutions for resolution

? Prepare CAD drawings and details

? Answering phone call addressing technical issues from customers and internal sources

? Continue to learn and research HVAC and Fan Coil issues and concepts

? Work with the sales and marketing department in preparation of brochures and technical manuals

? Aid in the development of new products and new manufacturing innovations

? Ability to interface with customers, peers and internal departments with equal proficiency

? Perform design analysis and calculations; include cost effective measures within designs

? Must perform all work in accordance with all safety procedures

? Other duties and responsibilities as required

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

? BSME; minimum 3+ years experience with sheet metal and in HVAC and Fan Coil manufacturing

? Working knowledge of PC?s and web hosted applications as well as SolidWorks

? Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills

? Self-motivated, flexible, and a team player

? Ability to learn quickly and work independently

? Experience in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and a working knowledge of controls and electronics

? Hydronic and DX coil design and construction a plus

? Satisfactorily meeting job performance expectations for current position
