DIRECT HIRE - MACHINE OPERATOR

EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING IS A MUST:

 ABILITY TO READ BLUEPRINTS

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

1. Achieve target efficiency on all machines operated and keep waste at minimal levels.

2. Coordinate the activities of other workers assigned to the machine to achieve maximum productivity.

3. Work with QA, Lead People, Manager, and Logistics to identify and report bad materials so they can be removed from inventory and suppliers notified, while maintaining the highest quality product possible.

4. Insure that the Machine area is kept neat and orderly, to maintain a safe work area for everyone involved.

5. Insure that safe work practices are followed by everyone on the machine.

6. Assist as needed in the training of additional Operators so that properly trained Operators will be available when needed.

7. Work with Maintenance to troubleshoot problems and minimize downtime.

8. Accurately fill out machine reports, production orders, and  identification cards.

 

 

This is a person who must be able to operate virtually any machine on the Primary Production floor.  This knowledge comes from many years of experience as an operator on the various machines in Primary.  This person should be able to efficiently run any machine operated.  Directs/coordinates the daily activities of personnel assigned to the machine. Work with Production Manager, Lead People, Scheduling, and Logistics to accommodate any changes that need to be made.  Work With QA and Lead People to identify and report bad materials to remove them from inventory and notify vendors.  Assist with training Operators on the operation of various Production equipment to insure that properly trained operators are available when needed. 



 Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

1. High School Education or equivalent.

2. 3-5 years experience operating a variety of making and/or packaging equipment.

3. Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

4. Good mechanical aptitude.

 

 

 

1. Production Manager, Lead People, Scheduling ? to discuss issues related to training, employee issues, and scheduling.

2. Primary, Logistics, QA ? to discuss any material issues related to the production schedule.

3. Operators and General Labor employees ? to discuss any training, procedures, Safety, Quality, or productivity issues that need to be addressed.

 

External:  Vendors ? to resolve materials issues if they are called in on a specific machine related problem.
